May 10 to June 10 Bay Area
June 12 to 19 Kauai, Hawaii

Ancient Andean wisdom teaches us that the earth was made while the creator sang, thus all beings are made of sound, rhythm and harmony. Andean musician, composer, recording artist and sound healer Tito La Rosa returns to the SF Bay Area and Kauai. Through his concerts, flower ceremonies and music classes. La Rosa helps reawaken our memories - weaving sounds into frequencies that open the heart and encourage the spirit to soar. La Rosa, a descendent of Quechua Indians of the Peruvian Andes, has spent more than a decade recovering and preserving, studying, and intuiting the ancestral music of Peru. Tito is a Curandero de Sonido, or sound healer. When performing ritual and ceremony for healing, he enters into parallel worlds to bring forth sound that elevates the vibration of an individual and allows for healing and balance to occur.

Bay Area Andean Sound Healing Courses:

Sound Healing and Flute Making Class
 - Bamboo as a Teacher
, a two day course. In the oldest traditions, Bamboo was considered a living being with a spirit that manifested as a teacher, transmitting healing and sound. Bamboo teaches us to be flexible...to dance with the universe...with the changes happening in nature, in life. Bamboo, empty inside is strong and resistant on the outside. In this session we work with Bamboo as a mirror - as teacher - where once in relationship with this being, all can see and experience sound and love.
We will make music, ritual, prayer and flutes. Bamboo will be provided. This 2-day class will take place at Dean Rutherford's "Tool Heaven", a full service carpentry shop at a beautiful Richmond location. Marty and Dean will assist Tito.

Please bring food to share and nourish.

  • Saturday & Sunday, May 11th & 12th, 2012. 11am to 4:00pm Berkeley. Maximum 14 students $200. Please reserve online,

El Poder Curativa de los instrumentos Ancestrales de Antigua Peru
(The Healing Power of the Ancestral Instruments of Ancient Peru)

“This course is my favorite thing that Tito does.” -- Ailish Schutz
Join us for a magical, experimental and experiential class - a journey through the acoustical universe of ancestral Peru. We will explore the uses of the instruments and their applications to healing body, mind and spirit. Working with a variety of instruments such as whistling vessels, zamponas, bamboo flutes, patutos (conch shells) ceramic antaras, feathers, seeds, shakapas, bells and drums we will discover their uses in healing and their connection to the realm of spirit. We will explore how to use these instruments in ceremonies and rituals. This course will be taught using the knowledge and principles of the Cosmovision of the Peruvian Andes. It is a powerful and yet simple course on how to work shamanically with sound. You do not need to be a musician or even to work with sound to benefit from taking this class. Its teachings apply to all of life. This course is constantly changing in its content, so you wil always learn something new each time you come.

Ayni Projects Honors Ancient Culture

Paylla! Gracias! Thank you! Obrigado! Arigato! Tak Sumiki! Merci! Grazie for coming home to Ayni Projects

Ayni Projects is dedicated to participating in the development of healthy communities by working with local leaders (in the Americas) to co-create and implement initiatives that include all members of the community in a reciprocal way whereby people give what they have to offer, and receive what they need in return. It is the belief of Ayni Projects that in this way everyone becomes invested in the well-being of the whole community as the act of social reciprocity is synonymous with this well-being.

We continue to invite you to be a part of our schools and our model health care clinic that serves over 3,000 indigenous people in the Central Peruvian Andes.
